Fair question! There are SO many incredibly talented web designers, developers and other creatives out there and I encourage you to check them out! I wouldn’t want to ever work with someone who didn’t truly believe that we were a good fit. This is partly why all of my projects begin with a consultation call – so we can suss each other out and make sure we are moving in a direction that is beneficial for us both! With that being said, I pride myself at coming at the site building process as not just a designer, but a small-business owner/entrepreneur myself and believe I have all of the experience and skills necessary to ensure that your website meets your own business goals! A 50% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your start date in my calendar. Additional payments are due dependent on your package timeline and are outlined clearly during our consultation and then again in a contract you sign prior to purchase. Typically the second milestone payment is due on your project start date and the final payment is due two weeks into your project timeline.
HeyKaila Media websites are designed and built by me. I’m the person you will communicate with through the booking, planning, development and training stages. If your website requires complex custom coding, then one of my team may help out with that, but that is still overseen by yours truly!
Having a developer tell you how much your website will cost without hearing about your project is pretty much the same as having a contractor tell you how much your house will cost to build without seeing your blueprints…aka not accurate. Working with many small businesses and being one myself, I can understand that a website can be a major expense and that having a ballpark estimate may be the deciding factor of whether you move forward. But I can do you one better. Book a consult today and I will provide you with transparent pricing for a high, mid, and base level package option so you feel empowered to choose the service that best suits the time commitment you can make, your budget and any other needs you may have!
Additional fees will never be hidden from you. I do my best to make sure any costs that are not included in a quoted project are either discussed with you beforehand during our consult, or are noted directly within the proposal. Some examples of this would be the monthly platform fee, costs for additional plugins, SSL upgrades, additional user emails, etc.
